Toxicity remains a major limitation of cancer treatment

Severe side effects can compromise efficacy, restrict clinical use and prevent regulatory approval.

The Cisplatin Case

50+ years of clinical use;
10-20% of all tumors treated with cisplatin
75% of children and 25-50% of adults affected by ototoxicity
90% of patients affected by nephrotoxicity
50% of patients affected by peripheral neurotoxicity

AEGIS BIO develops small molecules for use with DNA-damaging cancer treatments like cisplatin

A combination designed to reduce toxicity, enhance efficacy and improve patient outcomes.
Severe toxicity Reduced toxicity
Dose reduction Preserved treatment intensity
Compromised treatment Enhanced antitumor activity
Cisplatin alone: molecules reach the body and damage healthy tissue Cisplatin with AEGIS BIO: healthy tissue is shielded

Initially focused on cisplatin, AEGIS BIO’s approach has the potential to extend to a broader range of DNA-damaging cancer treatments.
